These are difficult times, and DPNM is grateful for all the incredible activists like you who are committed to supporting your communities and electing Democrats up-and-down the ballot. Now more than ever, we need to stand together and support our fellow New Mexicans.
With the recent announcements of COVID-19 spreading in New Mexico, DPNM has made the decision to close our offices and work remotely for the next few weeks. We want to be sure we do everything possible to slow the spread of this disease, and we’re encouraging county parties to do the same.
As we continue to practice social distancing, many of our meetings and trainings have moved online. Our staff has found innovative ways to conduct fundraising calls, organizing activities, and even live events using technology. If you explore the rest of this page you’ll find information about regular county party meetings, at-home volunteer opportunities, and upcoming online trainings.
Many of our county parties are continuing to operate through online meetings and opportunities for activism. For more information about regular online meetings click HERE.
DPNM is currently reaching out to voters to make sure that their voter registration is up-to-date and to inform people about absentee balloting, in case they’re concerned about going to the polls in person. If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer, click HERE.
Throughout the next few months we urge New Mexicans to stay politically active and to stay calm. Follow Department of Health recommendations to wash your hands, avoid close contact with others, and remain home. Many of our county parties are organizing “Dems Care” initiatives to support the most vulnerable in their communities. For more information on what you can do to support others, see our information about Dems Care, and share your activism using #DemsCare.
Finally, I want to say thank you to our leaders at the federal, state, and local level who have taken quick action to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. They are fighting for us every day, and we’re lucky to have elected officials who are advocating for accessible testing, economic support, and funding for critical medical infrastructure. To send your own thank you to our elected officials click HERE.
Please explore the rest of this page for ways to get involved, stay healthy, and support our communities. And as always, thank you for all you do to elect Democrats.
