Where and when is the Democratic National Convention (DNC) going to be held?

The 2020 DNC will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 13th to July 16th, 2020.

 

 

At what point do I have to select a candidate?

The filing deadline for those seeking election as delegates is May 13th, 2020. You will need to file with your presidential preference by that date.

 

 

How many delegates from NM will be chosen?

19 Congressional District Delegates + 2 Alternates

Congressional District 1: 7 Delegates + 1 Alternate

Congressional District 2: 5 Delegates

Congressional District 3: 7 Delegates + 1 Alternate

4 Party Leader and Elected Official (PLEO) Delegates

6 At-Large (Statewide) Delegates

 

 

How much will it cost to attend the DNC? What are those costs, and who will cover them? 

DPNM advises potential delegates to be prepared to spend around $6,000 for the full cost of their trip.

DPNM will provide some meals for the New Mexico delegation, but delegates will need to raise any other funds necessary for their trip to the DNC in Milwaukee. This will include:

Paying for lodging costs (hotels are assigned to delegations by the DNC)

Transportation from New Mexico to the Milwaukee area

Other meals not covered by DPNM 

Any other expenses incurred 

Your contribution will be used in connection with federal elections. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the names, mailing addresses, occupation and name of employer of the individuals whose contributions exceed $200 per calendar year. Contributions are not tax deductible for state and federal income tax purposes.
