A Tale of Two Candidates: Domenici vs. Heinrich

Profiles of Nella Domenici and Martin Heinrich Highlight Stark Contrasts Ahead of Senate Election

In dueling profiles of Nella Domenici and Senator Martin Heinrich, published on subsequent Sundays in the Albuquerque Journal, a clear picture of the choice facing voters between New Mexico’s two candidates for U.S. Senate emerged.

Nella Domenici, who according to the Journal spent most of her life “living and working in New York,” again refused to answer whether or not she supports former president and convicted felon Donald Trump and admitted that she only moved back to New Mexico four years ago—after being recruited by Mitch McConnell and the extreme national GOP to run for office. The Journal also provides previously unreported details about Nella’s multiple multimillion-dollar properties, including a “$5.9 million condo on Fifth Avenue in New York and a $4.1 million waterfront home in Stamford, Connecticut, that was listed for rent in February for $40,000 per month.

It’s never been clearer just how out-of-touch Nella Domenici is with New Mexico.

Meanwhile, Senator Martin Heinrich, whose campaign the Journal says is focused “on cost of living as he runs for a third term,” spoke at length about key issues and how he’s delivered for the state of New Mexico. Heinrich highlighted his fight to lower costs for New Mexico families—including energy, groceries, and prescription drugs. He detailed his efforts to curb gun violence and keep our communities safe through bipartisan legislation in Congress. The Senator also talked about the need to diversify New Mexico’s economy in order to support more opportunities and good-paying jobs of the future.

“Martin Heinrich has proven time and again that he’s dedicated to the people of New Mexico and focused on delivering practical solutions to real problems,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Spokesperson Daniel Garcia. “Nella Domenici, with her multimillion-dollar properties and questionable business record, hasn’t proven anything other than how out of touch with everyday New Mexicans she really is.”
