DPNM Chair Marg Elliston Holds Press Call On “Starting Strong 2020” Initiative

Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) Chair Marg Elliston today spoke with reporters about DPNM objectives for the 2020 presidential election cycle. During the call, Chairwoman Elliston discussed how DPNM’s work in 2019 has prepared the party to start this year on a strong note. She also highlighted the party’s work to sustain the energy that carried Democrats to victory in 2018.

Chairwoman Elliston outlined three key areas in which DPNM intends to expand on past work in order to succeed in 2020: engaging Democrats across New Mexico, building Democratic infrastructure, and pushing back against Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric. She pointed to the ways in which DPNM staff and officers have been working toward those goals in 2019 and explained how the party intends to build on that work in 2020.

“The work we’ve been doing for the past year all leads right into our work for the year ahead,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Chair Marg Elliston. “So many people are fired up and ready to do their part to put a Democrat in the White House in 2020, and DPNM is ready to put in the effort to keep that momentum going through November.”

Throughout the week, DPNM will be discussing the party’s current achievements and planned initiatives on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using #StartingStrong2020.
