Jessica Velasquez Spoke At Labor, East Mountains Canvass Launches
DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez spent the day speaking to excited volunteers ahead of multiple GOTV canvass launches in New Mexico’s first congressional district. New Mexico Democrats are running the largest field program in the district since 2010 and have already reached out to voters over 150,000 times.
Jessica began the day speaking to union members at LiUNA Local #16 Union Hall. Over 35 people from NMFL, SMART, NMCLC, IAM, and LiUNA gathered to hear from Democratic leaders before heading out to perform COVID-safe lit drops around the district.
Jessica also helped launch a canvass in her own neighborhood in the East Mountains, joining over dozens of volunteers for donuts and door knocking.
“Democrats aren’t taking anything for granted in this race, and I was so excited to see people fired up and ready to get out the vote today,” said DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez. “We know exactly what’s at stake in this race, and we’re working around the clock to make sure that we send Melanie Stansbury to Congress.”
All Democratic canvassing efforts are taking place in accordance with COVID-safe protocols, which require all volunteers to remain masked, and encourage only fully vaccinated individuals to speak directly to voters at a safe distance.
