The Democratic Party of New Mexico today invited candidates to be the Democratic nominee in New Mexico’s first Congressional District to speak to State Central Committee members and others in a public forum. The virtual event was attended by over 300 people.
Candidates answered questions submitted by the public, which addressed issues such as their top priority in Congress, how they would work alongside other Democrats, and how they would campaign in the general election. Each candidate was given an equal opportunity to make a short opening and closing statement highlighting their priorities and their goals as a candidate.
“We were so glad to have this opportunity to allow each of our candidates to put their best foot forward and make a case for why they should represent CD-1,” said DPNM Chair Marg Elliston. “We have an incredible slate of candidates running for this nomination, and we look forward to putting our full support behind whoever is elected.”
The Democratic Party of New Mexico State Central Committee will elect the Democratic nominee on Tuesday, March 30th.
