The Democratic Party of New Mexico officers — Chair Jessica Velasquez, Vice Chair Manny Crespin, Secretary Pamelya Herndon, and Treasurer Rayellen Smith — joined Democratic leaders at a series of canvass launches across New Mexico’s first congressional district this weekend to help get out the vote.
Officers spoke alongside leaders like Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Senator Ben Ray Luján, Congressman Pete Aguilar, Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez and candidate for Congress Melanie Stansbury. Dozens of volunteers attended events in Midtown, the Westside, and the South Valley. Supporters at each launch heard from speakers before heading out to knock doors or make phone calls.
“Democrats aren’t taking anything for granted in this race, because we know how much is at stake,” said DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez. “It’s so important to elect a strong Democrat like Melanie Stansbury, who will work with President Biden to pass critical reforms to support working families and rebuild our infrastructure. That’s why we’re working non-stop to get out the vote ahead of election day on Tuesday”
