DPNM Statement on Nomination of U.S. Senator Tom Udall As US Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa

DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez released the following statement regarding President Joe Biden’s plans to nominate former United States Senator Tom Udall as US Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa:

“We are so proud to see outstanding New Mexico Democrats like Senator Udall continue to be recognized for their leadership at the national and international level. Senator Udall is a lifelong public servant with a long history of leadership in foreign policy and climate issues, and we know he will continue to be an asset to our nation as he takes on this important new role.  And his wife Jill Cooper Udall has been a long-time national advocate for the arts who now will no doubt further cultural relations between the two nations. ”
