DPNM Statement on Opening of Online Absentee Ballot Request Portal

DPNM Chair Marg Elliston released the following statement regarding the opening of the New Mexico Secretary of State’s online absentee ballot request portal for the 2020 general election:

“Voting absentee is still the safest way to cast your ballot during a global pandemic, and we encourage all New Mexicans to request their absentee ballots as soon as possible. As the Trump administration continues to undermine the US Postal Service and take steps to prevent widespread voting in this election, it is more important than ever to request and return a ballot at the earliest possible date. We look forward to working to ensure that as many New Mexicans as possible are able to safely cast their ballots during this election, because Democrats know that when we vote, everyone wins!”
