Governor Martinez Signals Support for Trump's Appointment of White Supremacist

New Mexico – At a Republican Governors Association press conference in Orlando today, Governor Susana Martinez signaled her support for Donald Trump’s appointment of a white supremacist when asked about Stephen Bannon as Chief of White House Strategy.

“Today, Governor Martinez showed us that she doesn’t care to lead and take a stand for New Mexicans against racism. A white supremacist in a White House leadership position should concern everyone. New Mexico deserves better, and Governor Martinez continues to disappoint our state while she travels to boost her national profile,” said Juan Sanchez III, Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico.

Bannon runs a propaganda organization known for pushing racist and sexist propaganda including headlines like: “Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive and Crazy”, “There’s No Hiring Bias Against Women in Tech, They Just Suck at Interviews,” and “Hoist It High And Proud: The Confederate Flag Proclaims A Glorious Heritage.”
