Mark Moores Misses May 3 Deadline to File Financial Disclosure

DPNM Calls on Moores to Comply with Campaign Finance Law

State Senator and candidate for Congress Mark Moores failed to file a Personal Financial Disclosure this week, leaving voters in the dark about his finances. Rep. Melanie Stansbury, on the other hand, filed her yearly required financial disclosures ahead of the May 3 deadline.

Moores received nearly $2 million in PPP loans for his business, which he has previously drawn a salary from, and recently loaned his campaign $200,000. Failure to file this disclosure without an extension is a violation of federal law, and leaves voters unable to access critical information about Moores.

“Financial transparency is an essential part of free and fair elections,” said DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez. “Mark Moores is failing to meet legal deadlines and keeping voters in the dark by delaying this critical filing. This refusal to disclose should prompt the question: what is Mark Moores trying to hide?”
