Mark Moores Votes to Stop Cannabis Legalization

GOP State Senator and candidate for Congress Mark Moores voted tonight against the Cannabis Regulation Act, siding with his Republican colleagues and opposing the legalization of cannabis in New Mexico.

This critical legislation is projected to bring hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue into New Mexico and create thousands of jobs. Legalization of cannabis is widely supported by New Mexicans as a smart way to help bolster our state’s economy.

“This is just another example of how out of step Senator Moores is with New Mexicans,” said DPNM Spokesperson Miranda van Dijk. “Legalizing cannabis will bring millions of dollars of revenue into New Mexico, create thousands of jobs, as we diversify our economy and move to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. If Mark Moores can’t understand the needs of New Mexicans as a State Senator, he has no business being in Congress.”
