Moores’ Extreme Stances Attract Support from National Anti-Reproductive Rights Groups

Throughout his campaign for Congress, Republican Mark Moores has repeatedly expressed anti-women views that line up with his extremist voting record. He doubled-down on his stance that abortion should be criminalized and he refused to denounce a misogynistic tweet from the Republican Party of New Mexico that depicted him punching his opponent in the face.

Right to Life, a national anti-reproductive rights group, agrees with Moores’ extreme stances which would criminalize a woman’s reproductive rights and attack her healthcare decisions.Right to Life is pouring money into the race for CD-1, paying for mailings and radio ads which make clear that Moores is “endorsed by Right to Life.”

“Mark Moores is gaining support from national groups that want to strip women of our right to safe and legal abortion,” said DPNM Chair Jessica Velasquez. “We cannot trust Mark Moores because Mark Moores does not trust New Mexico’s women to make our own healthcare choices, including the deeply personal decision about abortion. Moores will not stand up for us  and our well being in Congress. His views are dangerous for all women.”
