Santa Fe Columnist Crowns Nella Domenici As “Queen of Ducking, Dodging and Diversion”
In a stinging column published in the Santa Fe New Mexican, columnist Milan Simonich laid bare the flaws in Nella Domenici’s campaign, calling out her previously flailing campaign strategy of evasion and now, a dangerous alignment with former President and convicted felon Donald Trump.
The excerpts below speak for themselves:
“Republican Nella Domenici until last week demonstrated an unshakable commitment to running a vanilla campaign for the U.S. Senate.
She switched to strawberry swirl by fumbling what should have been an easy question about the last presidential election.
‘Of course President Joe Biden and [Vice President] Kamala Harris were legitimately elected in 2020, and our country and state are worse off because of it,’ Domenici said in a statement.
With her compound sentence, Domenici revealed a preference for the days of Donald Trump. That was a bad move by the queen of ducking, dodging and diversion.
Any candidate with chops would have known enough to turn an unwanted query into a self-serving statement. With months to prepare a cogent response, Domenici still flopped.
Linking herself to Trump diminishes her slim chance of upsetting Heinrich in November.”
