Nella Spent Most of Her Life “Living & Working in Connecticut & New York”
New Mexico newspaper’s candidate profile points out just how out-of-touch the former hedge fund executive is with New Mexico
Yesterday New Mexico’s biggest newspaper published a profile of Nella Domenici, the multimillionaire former hedge fund executive and second senior official of Bridgewater Associates to run for U.S. Senate, and it’s full of yet-unreported details about the candidate’s huge disconnect from New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Journal notes that since Nella left the state over 50 years ago, she “spent much of that time working and living in Connecticut and New York.”
Nella admits she moved back to the state—after being recruited by Mitch McConnell and the extreme national GOP to run for office—and now claims her multi-million dollar Santa Fe vacation house as her home.
But the Journal reveals that “Domenici and her husband still own a $5.9 million condo on Fifth Avenue in New York and a $4.1 million waterfront home in Stamford, Connecticut, that was listed for rent in February for $40,000 per month.”
“New Mexicans deserve a candidate who truly understands and shares their experiences, not someone who parachutes in for political convenience,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Spokesperson Daniel Garcia. “A famous last name, a high-powered resume, and millions of dollars to buy this election can’t make up for a lifetime of disconnect from hard-working New Mexico families and our values.”
