NM Dems on End of Session

Today is the last day of the 2019 New Mexico legislative session and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s first session as our chief executive. In celebration, Marg Elliston, Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, released this statement:

“Transformative—that’s how you describe this session. From investments in our children, working families, renewable energy, and infrastructure, to overdue changes like decriminalization of cannabis, common sense gun safety, and raising the minimum wage, New Mexico is on the move.

“Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s clear vision for the state shone bright in the last 60 days, as did strong leadership from Speaker Egolf and Leader Wirth, and I’m grateful for the long hours they, their caucuses, and staff put into the last 2 months. We still have our work cut out for us in future sessions but their achievements are already making an impact on the lives of New Mexicans in every corner of our state.”
