NM Dems on Energy Transition Act

Today, the New Mexico House passed Senate Bill 489, the Energy Transition Act, which mandates 100% carbon-free energy by 2045 for investor-owned utilities. Marg Elliston, Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, released this statement:

“The clean energy revolution is in full swing and New Mexico can’t be left behind. The Energy Transition Act is a vital step to harness the renewable economy. By setting bold goals for the move to renewables, our governor and a strong bipartisan group of legislators are protecting our economy, taking on climate change, and planning for an all-renewable electric grid.”
