NM Dems on Lujan Grisham Reversing Medicaid Restrictions

Yesterday, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced that she would cancel planned restrictions on Medicaid benefits proposed by former Governor Susana Martinez. Marg Elliston, Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, released this statement:

“I applaud Governor Lujan Grisham’s move to end her predecessor’s plan to add unnecessary barriers to health care. Research clearly shows that the way improve public health for the most vulnerable is to make services like Medicaid easy to access. Adding unnecessary barriers and copays might have saved Gov. Martinez a few pennies, but in the long run, it was a deliberate attempt to harm the health of New Mexico families.”
