Pearce must release taxes before early vote

Hundreds of thousands of New Mexicans begin voting in just one week, but Steve Pearce continues to make excuses and hide his income and taxes from the public. As gubernatorial candidates across the nation make their
tax returns public, Steve Pearce, a millionaire many times over who owns several corporations, has chosen to keep the source and size of his riches hidden.

“New Mexicans deserve transparency from their leaders, and that means five years of Steve Pearce’s income tax returns right now,” said Marg Elliston, Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. “Hundreds of thousands of New Mexicans will vote next week, so it’s time to stop with the excuses and come clean to New Mexicans.”

In 2016 nearly two thirds of New Mexico voters voted early or absentee.

Michelle Lujan Grisham released five years of her income taxes over four months ago, after Steve Pearce demanded she do so.
