After a spirited leadership campaign that criss-crossed New Mexico, Sam Bregman was elected State Chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico at the DPNM’s State Central Committee meeting, held Saturday at the NMSU Pan Am Center in Las Cruces. Bregman, an Albuquerque attorney, defeated Roxanne Lara, a former Eddy County Commissioner from Carlsbad. Sam Bregman will serve a two year term as leader of the State’s Democratic Party.
Bregman captured just over 66 percent of the Party vote.
“The Democratic Party of New Mexico has spoken and our new team is complete. We are unified and ready to recruit, support and elect Democrats in all communities and all counties. Our coalition is strong and ready to build the future,” stated Chairman Sam Bregman.
Also elected were Vice-Chair Kathy Duffy, returning Secretary Michelle Mares, Treasurer Kristine “Kooch” Jacobus.
